About Sam Gontarz
This picture show's Sam Gontarz (far right) aged 16 on the shores of Lake Starnberg in Munich just weeks after being liberated from Wels concentration camp.

Sam was 11 years old when his family were forced out of their home and into the Lodz ghetto.

He endured four years in that ghetto and then survived five separate concentration camps.

But he lost everybody and everything along the way.

B7965 is Sam's incredible story told in full for the very first time.

About
The Book
Sam Gontarz thinks he is 90 years old. He doesn't know.
All the records of his birth were lost when his family was thrown out of their home and into the Lodz ghetto.

It is over 75 years now since he was liberated from Wels concentration camp after surviving for over 18 months in four other camps.

Unable to cope with sharing his story for many years, Sam eventually decided he needed to tell the world about what he had endured.

Over the years he has appeared at public events and on television and radio retelling some of his experiences.

For the first time in his life though Sam has decided it's time to tell the whole story.

And it's possibly one of the greatest stories ever told.
